WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) Set-up

Spherule establishes comprehensive WASH infrastructure addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene needs in schools and communities. We construct toilets as per the WHO guidelines, ensuring privacy, dignity, and improved school attendance. Combined with awareness sessions on water conservation and sanitation, these projects inculcate behavioral change among students and staff. In tribal communities like Nandurbar, we've constructed toilets and sewage systems standing as pillars of sustainable change. WASH interventions directly address water scarcity, promote good hygiene practices, and improve health outcomes. These facilities benefit thousands of students and community members, particularly girls whose education is often interrupted by inadequate sanitation facilities, promoting dignity and well-being.

Model Village Development

Our Model Village approach demonstrates holistic community transformation through integrated development. The Kayadanga Program in West Bengal exemplifies this model, benefiting 4,000 community members through comprehensive interventions. Skilling courses empower women with entrepreneurial skills, fostering self-confidence and economic independence. Distribution of Eshram and Abha cards enhances access to government schemes and essential services. The model underscores cultural sensitivity, effective communication, and holistic support importance for sustainable development, exemplifying transformative impact of education and skills training.

Aspirational District Programs

Spherule works intensively in Aspirational Districts Nandurbar (Maharashtra) and Nuh (Haryana), addressing education, health, social security, and skilling challenges. Our year-long Nandurbar initiative transformed tribal communities across four villages i.e Amlad, Navagaon, Pratappur, and Ranzani. Through health camps, we provide essential screenings to community members and conducted awareness sessions empowering villagers with vital sanitation and health knowledge. Menstrual health sessions coupled with sanitary napkin distribution empowered girls and women. Sanitation infrastructure including toilets and sewage systems ensure lasting health benefits. Educational workshops target youth substance abuse and hygiene education. E-Garbage vans and dustbin distribution elevate waste management. Collaborations with Gram Panchayats and local stakeholders underscore the transformative power of community-led development, catalyzing enduring positive changes.

Recreational Centers

We establish recreational centers providing safe, inclusive spaces prioritizing physical and mental well-being. The Bangalore Recreational Center elevated 500 laborers' well-being and camaraderie over six months through sports, yoga, and de-addiction sessions addressing physical and mental health needs. Financial literacy programs and arts activities empowered skills and creativity. Festivals and social events strengthened community bonds creating deeper connections. Notable outcomes include improved health, heightened productivity, and enriched skills among participants. These centers serve as community hubs where individuals access resources, build relationships, and engage in constructive activities.

Recreational Centers

Community Education & Literacy Programs

Spherule conducts community-based education and literacy programs reaching beyond formal schooling. We organize remedial classes, stationery kit distribution in slums, and after-school programs for underprivileged students. These initiatives target students who have dropped out or are weak in academics, providing educational support directly in their communities. Teacher training programs enhance educator capacity across government schools. Digital and financial literacy sessions empower women and youth with essential skills for modern life. We conduct awareness sessions on diverse topics including health, hygiene, social security schemes, and rights, fostering knowledge and positive behavioral changes. Cultural activities and creative competitions engage participants while promoting learning. Through mobile learning apps and digital resources, we bridge educational gaps caused by economic divides. Community education programs have reached over 60,000 students and thousands of adults, creating literate, informed communities capable of accessing opportunities and making empowered decisions.

Social Security Schemes: Access and Awareness

We conduct extensive awareness and training programs on government social security schemes ensuring vulnerable populations access entitled benefits. Our initiatives cover BOCW, Eshram, PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat), MJPJAY (Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana), pension, and insurance schemes. We've enrolled over 500000 individuals in various schemes across Maharashtra, Gurugram, Delhi, and other locations. The program includes registration support and door-step delivery of scheme benefits, eliminating bureaucratic barriers. Beneficiaries are unlocking critical welfare benefits and formal economic inclusion. Through individual sessions, small group sessions, and mega sessions, we ensure entrepreneurs and community members understand available government support.

Social Security Schemes: Access and Awareness

Disaster Management and Relief

Spherule responded swiftly to the COVID-19 pandemic with comprehensive disaster management efforts. We distributed ration and hygiene kits to 150,000 migrant laborers and underprivileged people across four states i.e. Maharashtra, Delhi, UP, and MP. Essential supplies including cooked food, water bottles, shoes, and sanitary pads reached 190,000 migrant laborers leaving Pune with police department support. We provided PPE kits, personal hygiene kits, masks, and face shields to 2,000 frontline workers and COVID warriors at hospitals and police stations. Over 3 lakh sanitary pads were distributed during lockdown ensuring menstrual hygiene continuity. Our disaster response demonstrated organizational capacity for rapid mobilization during crises. Relief efforts addressed immediate survival needs while maintaining dignity through provision of essential items. The pandemic response showcased how NGOs can effectively complement government efforts during emergencies, reaching vulnerable populations quickly. Our disaster management model emphasizes meeting basic needs, protecting health, and maintaining human dignity during crises.

Traffic and Road Safety Initiatives

We collaborate with traffic police, conducting road safety awareness campaigns promoting responsible driving and pedestrian safety. The "No Honking Day" initiative reached approximately 500,000 people across Pune locations including Yerwada, Viman Nagar, RTO Chowk, Vishrantwadi, Kalyani Nagar, Koregaon Park, Camp, and Kharadi. We regularly help traffic police spread awareness about traffic rules and responsible road usage among citizens. These initiatives address noise pollution, road rage, and traffic violations through community engagement and education. Awareness campaigns promote pedestrian safety, helmet usage, seatbelt compliance, and adherence to traffic signals.
